Best GCAM for Mi 11X/POCO F3: GCAM or Google Cam is an Android app that brings the Google Camera app to many smartphones. Google Camera is the proprietary camera app used by Google on their smartphones (Pixel and Nexus). The camera app is well-known for its detailed picture quality. Google uses several image recognition and optimisation algorithms to make its camera app better. That’s the reason why Google camera offers better dynamic range, high picture quality especially in hard conditions (low light, indoors, etc).

One of the best parts about this mod is that a few developers try to make it compatible with a huge number of phones. For instance, you will find different versions of working versions of GCAM from renowned developers such as BSG, Nikita, Urnyx05 and Cstark. These developers change some of the aspects of the original version and also find ways to make it work on non-pixel devices.

How to install GCAM? What is Camera2API?
To install this, all you need is a working Android phone with Camera2API enabled. Camera2API is an Application Programming Interface (API) that gives developers access to certain features of the phone’s camera via the software. Above all, there are several ways to see if your device supports Camera2API or not. One of the easiest ways to find is through the app called “Camera2 API Probe from Play Store“. This app is available free to download and it can show you the status of the Camera2 API for free.
You can see the status of Camera2API under the option called “Hardware Level Support Category”. According to the official documentation, Camera2API supports 4 levels of operations. You can find their names and descriptions down below.
- Level-3 – The OEM of the device has added some additional features to the camera including YUV reprocessing, RAW image capture, and more.
- Full – The smartphone fully supports all major capabilities of the Camera2 API.
- Limited – The phone supports only some of the features of Camera2 API.
- Legacy – Your Android smartphone only supports the Camera1 API features. Therefore, no support for Camera2 API.
If your device supports Full or Level 3, GCAM would work perfectly fine with your device. Devices such as POCO F1, Mi 11X, OnePlus 8T supports Camera2API. Therefore, if you want to try GCAM, then these devices will allow you to try it without any hassle.
Best GCAM for Mi 11X/POCO F3
Mi 11X aka POCO F3 is one of the devices that supports GCAM. The Camera2API on this device is set to LEVEL_3. In other words, GCAM on this device supports YUV reprocessing, RAW image capture, and more. However, not every version is working properly on it. I’ve tried more than 20 different GCAM versions and none of them worked properly. However, I recently installed a GCAM version and it worked properly. Every feature in it worked just fine and I haven’t faced any issues with it. It’s close to the perfect version that I found for my Mi 11X aka POCO F3.

You can download the configs from the link. After that, tap twice on the black or empty space between the shooter button to invoke the import window. Once it opens, load the .xml file you downloaded by locating it. That’s it, the best settings for the GCAM will be imported. The config file that I’m using is IronHrt-MGC-2.8HS-Rebase.xml.
