Poco F1 is seriously one hell of a device. It offered all the flagship specs at an affordable price tag. Many people bought this device and felt happy with the decision they’ve made. I include myself in that list.  Although POCO has released a handful of models under its name, POCO F1 has its legacy. With a flagship-range chipset, greater battery capacity, good display and capable cameras POCO F1 seriously challenged every flagship phone out there. The colossal advantage of this phone is its price tag. It was initially released at 21,000 INR and was priced down to  somewhere around 18,000 INR right now. Even at this price tag, this model is still in demand.

POCO F1: The Custom ROM’s Superstar

Since from its inception, POCO hails as a developer friendly. Xiaomi has taken this step to encourage the developer community to try new things on their devices. As a result, we saw many Custom ROMS being ported onto Xiaomi devices. POCO has also followed its footsteps and made the F1 a developer friendly device and that’s the reason why F1 has a wide range of Custom ROMS to choose from. From the infamous Lineage to Pixel Experience, Pocophone supports every AOSP Custom ROM released by the developers. Not only AOSP ROMS, Pocophone also supports OXYGEN OS from OnePlus and ONE UI from Samsung as well. You can see these ROM developments in XDA.

Recently, I witnessed a new ROM development for POCO F1 in telegram and I thought it was really worth sharing it. According to a well known developer from telegram handle called #OOFGANG, they were successful in porting the OXYGEN OS 11 to POCO F1. If they claim was real, POCO F1 is the first phone to get the OS right next to OnePlus 8 Series devices. Apart from OnePlus 8,8 Pro and 8T no other OnePlus devices have even got this OS yet. They are still in beta stage.

  • Android 11 Update: Oxygen OS 11 comes up with the new Android 11, the new and latest mobile operating system from Google
  • Revamped UI: The UI was designed to use the phone with one hand. As phones are getting bigger and bigger, using hem with a single hand is getting more and more difficult. OnePlus redesigned their UI and updated the layout in such a way that touch controls closer to your thumbs for easier access as soon as you open a menu.
  • The Insights AOD: The new AOD options on Oxygen OS 11 take your standard information display to the next level,  a wider range of choices. You personalize your display to show some the information or notification that you want with insights AOD.
