Pixel Experience Review: Have you ever heard about Pixel Experience? If not, then you should. Pixel experience is an AOSP based custom ROM developed based on stock Android. If you want to try the latest stock Android experience from Google, then this ROM can give you exactly that. One big difference between pixel ROM and other custom ROMs is that this ROM can give you the ultimate untouched stock Android experience like no other. You can find every feature and the exclusive pixel goodies designed by Google such as the launcher, wallpapers, icons, fonts, boot animation etc pre-installed with this ROM. Therefore, if you are a custom ROM enthusiast like me, then you should know more about this ROM.

I’ve been using this ROM since 2018 and the experience is terrific. Before revealing my review, here are the reasons why I think this ROM is the best ROM till date.

Pixel Experience Pro’s: Untouched Stock Android Experience

The first and the most obvious reason why I think this is the best ROM is because of its capability to give the untouched stock Android experience. Most of the custom ROMs tend to change the UI elements of Android. For instance, ROMs like lineage, CRdroid alters the Google code and add their changes to the system. Sometimes they even change the wallpapers, icons, add some new menus as well. This in turn deviates users from experiencing the stock Android experience provided by Google.

However, with pixel experience, you’ll get an almost un-filtered AOSP version of Android OS released by Google.

Pixel Experience Pro’s: Security

The main moto of pixel experience is to offer the maximum possible stability and security, along with essential and useful features for the proper functioning of the device. Therefore, it offers the same levels of enhanced security and privacy policies offered by Google. On top of it, Pixel Experience ROM has it own custom recovery which looks and works similar to the native Android recovery you see on pixel phones.

One thing that I love the most about this particular ROM is that it comes with encryption ready. Once you install this operating system on your device, the device will be fully encrypted just like the regular OEM ROMs. Not every custom ROM provides this feature. In addition to that, pixel experience provides frequent Android patch updates as soon as Google releases them to the public. Features like these have made pixel experience the most secured ROM I’ve ever tested. Even the ROM comes with a safety net passed out of the box.

Pixel Experience Pro’s: Frequent Updates

Pixel Experience ROM offers you frequent updates just like regular OEM’s. You can either download them directly from their official website. You can also get them through OTA (Over the Air) updates residing in your settings menu. The frequency of the updates are fairly regular. The updates has changes made by Google along with the fixes made by the ROM developers as well. Therefore, Pixel Experience has got more support than Android.

Pixel Experience Pro’s: Strong Community Support

Unlike other custom ROMs, pixel experience has got strong community support under its wing. As a result of this, you can find this ROM being ported to several devices.

This ROM has even got dedicated Instagram, Telegram and XDA accounts where the developers and fans communicate with each other. When you install this ROM and face any issues, chances are that they might get solved within the subsequent updates received by the device.

For instance, I installed their newest Android 12 release for Alioth and found the screen flickering in dark mode. The problem got fixed within a couple of weeks through subsequent OTA update.

Pixel Experience Pro’s: Bug-free Experience

ROMs from pixel experience are usually the most stable ROMs I’ve ever encountered. Every release is close to stable and provides bug free experience just like the regular OEM ROMs. As a result of this, you can rely on Pixel Experience ROMs as much as you like.

Pixel Experience Review: A Reliable Daily Driver

A ROM is called daily driver when it offers stable usage experience with out any bugs or lags. For instance, almost all OEM ROMs are stable. Out of the box, they’ll arrive as daily drivers. However, when it comes to custom & ported ROMs, not every ROM is considered as a daily driver. Some of those ROMs might have bugs. They don’t usually hit stable state unless they got strong developer community. Pixel Experience, on the other hand has got a stronger community of developers. Therefore, the ROM offers unmatched stability just like the regular OEM ROMs.

In addition to all that, since the ROM provides constant updates, stable security features, and bug free operating system, this ROM in my opinion is the best daily driver of all the custom ROMs. The ROM is even delivering an amazing battery backup. I’ve been using it’s Android 12 based ROM for my device and I felt fully satisfied with it’s working.

If you are looking for a custom ROM that offers good battery backup, stable performance, then you should definitely try Pixel Experience. This ROM has even got a special version called plus edition which is quite different from the regular one. The plus edition of pixel experience comes with added features, smoother animations and additional settings.
