Best Snapdragon 888 Phone: Snapdragon 888 is currently the defending champion of processing power. The chipset is a total game-changer for Qualcomm as it delivered chart-topping performance scores. The chipset has managed to gain 25% better CPU performance, a 35% graphics uplift than last year. The processor is also packed with improved 5G networking, revamped AI, and image processing capabilities. Apart from having powerful specs under its hood, Snapdragon 888 has even gained negative publicity owing to its overheating issues. The tech community is calling it “The Untamed Beast”.
Although the processor suffers from heating issues, it is still powering some amazing phones. From OnePlus 9 Pro to the Asus ROG Phone 5, Snapdragon 888 has bagged every flagship out there. We all know that flagships are only available to us in our fantasies. In reality, everyone can’t be able to lay their hands on them owing to their hefty price tags. However, some smartphone companies are making this dream come true in the form of affordable flagships. For instance, POCO F1 belongs to this category. The smartphone company has debuted with a groundbreaking price tag for Snapdragon 845. Since then, the buzzword “Flagship Killers” started to gain a huge swing in the tech world. Right now, Mi 11X Pro and Realme GT are contending for the title as they both shared the same flagship processor at an affordable price tag.
Realme GT
Realme GT is a 2021 Flagship phone which is yet to release. The phone was launched officially on August 18 in the Indian market. It comes with the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G Processor, 120Hz Super AMOLED Fullscreen, 65W SuperDart Charge, Sony 64MP Triple Camera setup, and LPDDR5 + UFS 3.1 storage. As for the price tag, the base variant of Realme GT has been set at Rs. 37,999.
As of now, Realme GT is considered the most affordable and lowest priced Snapdragon 888 phone. It is even priced lesser than Mi 11X. Take a look at the most important features of Realme GT.
Mi 11X Pro
Mi 11X Pro aka Redmi K40 Pro+ is an affordable flagship segment phone with an outrageous spec sheet. The phone is powered by Snapdragon 888 processor, which is the best that Qualcomm is offering right now. It also sports a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with thin bezels and a 108 MP main camera. Currently, it is the reigning champion of flagship killing, thanks to its top-of-the-line Snapdragon 888 chipset and also its affordable price tag.
Unlike other flagships, Mi 11X Pro is priced comparatively at a lower price point. The base variant (8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage) of the Mi 11X Pro is currently priced at Rs. 39,999. For instance, the OnePlus 9/9 Pro has got the same processor. However, they were priced at 49,999 INR and 69,999 INR each making them a pure fantasy. Take a look at the most important features of the Mi 11X Pro.
Mi 11X Pro vs Realme GT: The Best Budget Flagship?
Apart from the major flagships and IQOO 7 legend, these two phones are competing for the most affordable budget flagship title. Both of them possess the Snapdragon 888 chipset under their hood and both of them were priced at 40,000 INR. Therefore, the million-dollar question is which one is the best snapdragon 888 phone? We compared both of them and I have to say it’s a tough fight. Although they got the same processor, some features of these phones are unique. Therefore, based upon them, we judged Mi 11X Pro is the best snapdragon 888 phone.
Mi 11X Pro Has Well-Rounded Design & Color Options
The Mi 11X is equipped with the flagship-grade 16.94cm (6.67) E4 AMOLED display. The screen is one of the best in class. The two-tone finish and the glossy design brought a premium feel to its design. The back of the phone is made out of the same Gorilla Glass 5 as the front. Unlike Realme GT, Mi 11X Pro does not possess any fancy pattern. It is subtle, vibrant, classy, and looks elegant in our opinion. The phone comes in three colors, Cosmic Black, Lunar White, and Celestial Silver. Apart from silver, both white and black color options look amazing and well-rounded. The only drawback with the Mi 11X Pro design is that the design is repeated in many of the Xiaomi phones.
On the other hand, Realme GT possesses a glass sandwich design. It is available in three color options, Dashing Silver, Dashing Blue, and Racing Yellow. Apart from the racing yellow, both silver and blue look pale and lifeless. The design looks repetitive and flashy. The racing stripes design on the back reminds us of the back design of Realme X7 and Realme 8. We loved the color scheme and design elements of Master Edition better than that of the Realme GT. The racing yellow color is the one that we liked the most. It is new and unique. However, the dual-tone vegan leather back for the Yellow variant is quite off-putting in our opinion.
Having a leatherback on a phone is not suitable for every environment. Design-wise, Mi 11X Pro possesses well-rounded and looks practical than Realme GT. If Realme GT managed to get the same design elements and color option as the master edition, it would’ve looked better than Mi 11X Pro.
Mi 11X Pro is Slimmer Than Realme GT
Mi 11X Pro has a slimmer body design than Realme GT. The dimensions of Mi 11X Pro are clocked at 163.7 x 76.4 x 7.8 mm. On the other hand, the dimensions of Realme GT are clocked at 158.5 x 73.3 x 9.1 mm. Therefore, Mi 11X Pro is around 14% slimmer than Realme GT 5G in terms of body measurements. The Device stands at 7.8mm Thick and 196g Light. Realme GT stands at 9.1 mm Thick and 186g Light.
Mi 11X Pro Possess Better Camera & Resolution Than Realme GT
Let’s look at the camera setup between these two models. The camera setup on the Realme GT includes a triple camera setup with the 64-megapixel primary camera, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 2-megapixel macro camera. The Selfie duties on the other hand are handled by a 16-megapixel front camera. On the other hand, Mi 11X Pro comes with a 108 MP primary sensor with an f/1.75 aperture, an 8 MP ultrawide unit with an f/2.2 aperture, and a 5 MP telemacro camera with an f/2.4 aperture.
Although both of these models possess a triple camera setup, Mi 11X Pro comes with a 108 MP main shooter which is 2X more than the main sensor of Realme GT. More resolution generally means better picture quality, though it’s not always necessary. The camera on Mi 11X Pro has around 68% more megapixels (MP) than Realme GT 5G. Mi 11X Pro is aced in every aspect when it comes to the camera setup. The camera setup on Mi 11X Pro is fully capable of capturing 8K shots which is not present in Realme GT. Realme GT camera only supports 4K video recording.
Mi 11X Pro even has a better front camera resolution than Realme GT. Realme GT comes with a 16MP front camera. On the other hand, Mi 11X Pro comes with a 20MP shooter on the front. Around 25% more megapixels (MP) than Realme GT 5G in terms of front camera.
Mi 11X Pro Has Better Protection Than Realme GT
When it comes to protection, Mi 11X Pro possesses better protection than Realme GT. The phone is covered with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on both sides and also possesses IP53 graded dust protection. IP53 means Mi 11X Pro is protected against dust and spraying water. Any dust releasing in the environment won’t be able to compromise the mobile’s inner workings. Realme GT doesn’t have this range of protection. Except for 2.5D glass, Realme GT does not possess any extra protection.
Mi 11X Pro Might Get Custom ROMS Support
When it comes to Custom ROMs and stuff, Xiaomi is always one step ahead of other brands. Unlocking the bootloader on Xiaomi phones is much easier than most of the brands as Xiaomi always supported the developer community immensely. At present, Mi 11X Pro does not have any support for Custom ROM development. However, it might get soon. Its lite version, Mi 11X powered by Snapdragon 870 has already gained many Custom ROMs. Therefore, Mi 11X Pro might gain the same shortly.
