Stumble Guys Review: Stumble Guys is a new game on the play store that looks just like Fall Guys. Stumble Guys is a massive multiplayer knockout game with up to 32 online players. The idea behind this game is simple. Players can join and struggle through levels, round after round facing escalating chaos and hurdles until one victor remains. Although, it looks simple, the gameplay is fun.
Fall Guys: A Viral Hit
Fall Guys Ultimate Knockout is also a massive multiplayer knock out game developed by Mediatonic. It was released for Microsoft Windows (PC Gaming) and PlayStation 4 on 4 August 2020. The game will be releasing soon on Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series. It became a viral hit since its release. The game has over 60 players fighting through difficult levels for the win. It has gained huge popularity and became a viral sensation. Thanks to YouTube streamers and Social media, Fall Guys drew over 2 million players in its first 24 hours and gained over 23,000,000 hours of watch time on Twitch. Players all around the world are playing this fun yet simple looking game and quite enjoying it.
This super popular game is so simple that you only need just two buttons to play. One for running and one for Jump. This simplistic approach made everyone realise that this game is a perfect match for Mobile gaming. The gameplay even makes sense that there would be a mobile version since it pretty much looks and sounds just like a mobile game. It even requires only a few moves and controls which makes it more of a mobile-oriented game than PS4 or XBOX based game. The mobile version of this game is in talks right now. However, China will be the first country to get it. According to reports, Chinese entertainment company Bilibili has gained the rights to publish a mobile version of the game, but in China only. Its Global release is not yet confirmed.
However, you might see some games which sound similar to Fall Guys on play store. Games like Fall Dudes & Stumble Guys share some uncanny resemblances with Fall Guys. If you don’t know about Fall Gus, the you might think them as the real mobile version of Fall Guys.
Fall Guys VS Stumble Guys
Among those numerous clones of Fall Guys on play store, Stumble Guys came so close that you can call it “The perfect clone for Fall Guys”. The game is so perfect that at my first glance, I thought it is the mobile version of Fall Guys. Graphics, Gameplay and even some obstacle designs in Stumble Guys reminds you everything about Fall Guys. Stumble Guys is available for both Android & iOS.
The major difference between Fall Guys and Stumble Guys is
- Player count: Fall Guys supports a total of 60 players, while Stumble Guys have only 32.
- Gaming Avatars: The gaming avatars in Stumble Guys are closer to a human than the avatars in Fall Guys.
- Creator: Fall Guys was created by Mediatonic, on the other hand ,Stumble Guys was created by KitkaGames
Stumble Guys Review: Graphics
One of the best part of Stumble Guys is its graphics. The graphics in Stumble Guys look so good that everything in the game looks fantastic and crystal clear. Especially, the obstacles are just perfectly designed and the colours on them look amazing. Due to their colour selection, they stand unique in the gaming arena. As a result, the whole gameplay feels more like an inflatable fun house than a gaming arena filled with obstacles and challenges.
Coming to the avatars, they look fun and artistic. Some of the characters looks like as if they came straight out of cartoons. From Policemen to Gladiator, you can see every character in the game. I even saw an avatar that reminds me of “Bob the Builder”.
Overall, the graphics are good and eye-catching. Graphics are really an asset to this game. I prefer Graphics in Stumble Guys over Fall Guys, because unlike Fall Guys, they are close to humans.
Stumble Guys Review: Gameplay
The gameplay of Stumble Guys is good and often makes you want to play more. It’s not addictive and that’s the best of playing Stumble Guys. Unlike other battle royale games, Stumble Guys is more of a stress buster. The gameplay duration is also not long. As of now, players had to pass through a couple of levels to reach the final bout. Therefore, a full game would take approximately a couple of minutes to complete.
Except for the initial confusion in identifying our avatar during the beginning of the game and some glitches here and there, everything is fine with Stumble Guys. For instance, the game will let you have new skin as a reward for playing videos. However, I haven’t got one after taping it five times. Overall, the gameplay is amazing though and will remind you of Takeshi’s Castle. However, some arenas are repeating again and again. It might be good if they added new arena to the game instead of repeating everything on a shuffle.
Stumble Guys Review: Sounds/Haptics
The sounds in the game are not as good as the graphics. At first, they seem great, but after playing the game for some time, you’ll find them annoying. Especially, the sound that’s playing behind the background while playing the challenges. It doesn’t change and often repeats for every level, which I felt pretty annoying. They are also even affecting the whole gameplay experience. Stumble Guys needs more fun or adventurous music to boost up the gaming experience.
Coming to the Haptic’s & Feedback, Stumble Guy’s haptic’s are pretty neutral and responsive. You’ll feel the click of every button and enjoy doing it. The feedback is good and they are right at the point.
Stumble Guys Review: Customizations/Shop
Stumble Guys is right now in early access and the content of the game is constantly updating. When it comes to customising your avatar, Stumble Guys has got everything. You can choose various Outfits, Emotes, Animations, Footsteps and even Skin tones to customize your character.
I think everyone should customize their own Avatar so that they become unique and easily identifiable in the crowd.
Final Words
Since the original “Fall Guys” is no where near to mobile gamers, this is the closest Fall Guys clone you can find on mobile. The game has got an average of 4.2 on the play store right now. It has great potential. It is fun to play and you can also play with your friends too.
Overall, Stumble Guys is a total stress buster. Although, the inspiration for this game came from Fall Guys, this game is unique in its own way. Except for some minor issues and bugs here and there, this game is a total champ. Remember that this game is currently on early access. Therefore, we can expect some issues lurking in it. However, I’m sure that with the time being, this game can stay on top, at least until Fall Guys arrive.
