Kissan GPT: Indian Chat GPT for Farmers [Explained]

Check out Kissan GPT, an Indian GPT version for famers and designers.

Kissan GPT

Chat GPT (Generative Pre-trained Transformer) has recently been a hot topic due to its capacity to generate reasonable and human-like responses. The AI tool allowing users to interact with it in a way that feels natural and intuitive. It has made Chat GPT famous than any other application. Some people compare it to some of the first inventions in human history, such as the printing press, the steam engine, and the dynamo. Its invention has caused a certain stir and even made Google to come up with its own GPT model Bard. As AI technology keeps getting better, ChatGPT and similar language models are likely to become even more popular.

ChatGPT, despite being the most used tool, has certain disadvantages. One of the disadvantage is the language barrier. Its GPT architecture was predominantly trained on English language text data. Therefore, it excels at creating natural language responses only in English. However, GPT can be fine-tuned on text data in other languages to generate responses in those languages as well. Some Indian researchers has made this possible with a new program called Kissan GPT.

What is Kissan GPT?

Kissan GPT is a cutting-edge, multilingual artificial intelligence chatbot designed based on Open AI. It was designed to offer farmers individualized, voice-based support for all of their agricultural requirements. The multilingual AI chatbot designed for farmers and anyone interested in agriculture, has several potential advantages

1. Personalized assistance:

Kissan GPT may provide personalised and customised support to farmers based on their specific requirements and questions. It can create natural language responses to farmers’ enquiries and give them with the knowledge they need to make informed decisions about their agricultural practices by leveraging OpenAI’s ChatGPT technology.

2. Voice Based:  Unlike Chat GPT, Kissan GPT provides voice-based support and that too in regional languages. It can be particularly beneficial for farmers who may have limited literacy or language skills. Voice-based support also allows farmers to access information hands-free, making it easier for them to perform tasks while receiving assistance.

3. Multilingual support: It supports many languages, which can aid farmers who speak different dialects. It can assist farmers overcome language barriers and access information in other languages by offering support in several languages.

How Kissan GPT Works?

It works by combining OpenAI’s cutting-edge ChatGPT technology with their own knowledge store. Kissan GPT builds on top of chat gpt, a text-based AI system, but it goes beyond by providing voiced responses.

Kissan GPT converts the text created by ChatGPT into vocal output using Text-To-Speech (TTS) technology. TTS technology uses synthetic voices to translate written text into spoken words, which are then played back to the user via a speaker or headset. It uses a TTS engine to convert ChatGPT’s natural language text into speech output. TTS engines generate natural-sounding synthetic voices from a library of human speech sounds and phonemes. In other words, it can provide multilingual support by leveraging these two technologies.

It is wonderful to see that artificial intelligence technology is being used to support agriculture and the farming community, both of which play an essential part in ensuring that people all around the world have access to food.

Review: Kissan GPT

This application is one of the most helpful tools a farmer could have. There is not the slightest bit of skepticism about that. The multilingual support and voice input and outputs are the reason why I’m totally impressed with this application. This application has got the ability to break language barriers. This tool is advantageous for many peoples especially farmers from rural India. Farmers can use this tool to ask questions and get detailed outputs from AI. The tool is able to generate both text and voice outputs at same time which is an added advantage in my opinion.

Coming to cons, one thing that bothers me about this app is that responses are occasionally routed to the earpiece rather than the speakers. As a result, the voice is not audible. On top of that, the replies takes a lot more time than Chat GPT, since TTS system is involved. The communication between Chat GPT API, collecting the information, and transforming it using TTS into regional languages is most likely the cause of this delay.

Because the application is still in its early stages, I believe these flaws will be addressed in future releases. Overall, Kissan GPT has the potential to provide valuable support to farmers and anyone interested in agriculture, by leveraging AI technology to overcome language barriers and provide personalized, voice-based assistance.
