If we set aside the materials, you can’t help but be impressed with the Pixel 7A’s flawless design when you first see it. A sturdy frame and a lovely matte finish that is simple to hold protect the phone. Furthermore, the weight distribution is perfect, making holding the phone a joy. The Pixel 7A sports a stunning 6.1-inch 90-hz OLED display that is a visual feast.
This screen has a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. Its great quality and colour accuracy make watching videos a delight. The most impressive feature of the Pixel 7A is its Mali-G710 MP7 graphics processing unit (GPU), which is capable of producing spectacular graphics and improving the user experience as a whole. Tensor G2 is a relative powerhouse, particularly in the GPU industry, and that’s before considering its difficult-to-quantify AI capabilities. In particular, the GPU field has been revolutionized by this product.
The geek-bench score of the Pixel 7A is on par with that of the Pixel 7. It has scored over 1051 points. Ironically, the multi-core performance of the Pixel 7A even surpassed that of the Pixel 7 Pro. Pixel 7A Review: Camera – A Shutterbug’s Paradise
Google’s prowess in camera technology is well known, and the Pixel 7A is no exception.
A 13MP ultrawide camera and a 64MP main unit, the first Quad Bayer-type sensor on an A-series phone, are both installed in the back visor. Over on the front, another 13 MP camera is in charge of selfies. Every shot you take is a masterpiece thanks to the rear camera setup and Google’s AI improvements.
Photos taken on the Pixel 7a’s main camera in good light are excellent, as expected. The colors are vibrant, and the details are sharp. The 7A provided us with consistently accurate white balance, and Pixel smartphones capture color that is vivid and true to life. The presentation of detail is mature and avoids oversharpening. Due to the additional resolution, the 7a could be said to be superior to its more expensive stablemates in that regard (16 MP vs. 12.5 MP is not a small difference). Even when zoomed digitally, the Pixel 7a does a fine job of zooming in on objects. The ultra-wide lens also met expectations. The images captured through the lens have excellent sharpness and detail.
In low light, the Pixel 7a’s Night Sight feature performs impressively, producing brighter and clearer photos than most smartphones in its price range. Even at night, colors are able to convey a sense of emotion, and the automatic white balance function worked perfectly with all different kinds of artificial lighting. The night sight feature is a gem. The features totally captured the scenery with amazing details, sharpness, and color.
Additionally, the camera’s portrait mode produces stunning photos with natural-looking bokeh. There will be consequences for disabling it on your device. In darker locations, particularly, the details may become less distinct.
When it comes to video, the main camera on the Pixel 7a is capable of recording video in up to 4K at 60 frames per second (even when zoomed in by two times), but the ultrawide camera can only record in 4K at 30 frames per second, and you will need to switch to 1080p if you want to shoot ultrawide video at 60 frames per second. The resolution of the front-facing camera may go up to a maximum of 4K30, and it is also capable of recording in 1080p60. The video quality is good and captures every detail with clarity. However, I personally feel the contrast is high.
Overall, the Pixel 7a’s camera is a strong feature of the phone and will satisfy most users’ photography needs. Even in low light, the night mode performs wonders. Similarly, the front camera is perfect for those selfie enthusiasts out there.

Battery/ Charging:
The battery that comes with the Pixel 7a has a capacity of 4,385 mAh. This is a difference of 25mAh compared to the 6a, but a difference of 30mAh compared to the Pixel 7. This aspect is where Pixel 7a doesn’t shines when it compare with its competitors such as Motorola Edge 40 and Nothing Phone 1. I observed the battery was descent, not spectacular like any other aspects that discussed so far. The phone has scored over 76h endurance rating conducted by GSMArena.com. The rating felt too low when compared to Nothing Phone 1 and Motorola Edge 40. They managed to score over 100 in those tests.
When it comes to charging speeds, Google specifies a maximum power rating of 18W. The charging speeds are mediocre when it was pitted against its rivals such as POCO F5 and Phone 1. It also supports 7.5W wireless support.
I think this is the aspect where 7a lets its users down.
